Talk about the visit in a simple, positive way. You could say, “The dentist will have a look at your teeth and help us learn how to care for them.” Give your child room to ask questions, and let us explain the details of the appointment in a way that suits their age.

Please tell us about previous dental experiences, sensitivities or other needs that may affect your child’s visit. You do not need to have all the answers before you arrive. Bringing your questions about brushing, new teeth or daily habits can help make the appointment useful for you too.
